Turkey social housing project reaches 80,000 completed units

Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum announced that approximately 80,000 units of the 500,000-unit social housing project are nearing completion. The 'Ev Sahibi Türkiye' (Homeowner Turkey) project is being implemented across all 81 provinces to address national housing needs and reduce rental burdens.

Remaining housing units are being tendered in stages. Minister Kurum stated that the goal is to deliver all planned homes to citizens according to the established schedule, with full delivery targeted for 2028.

In a separate development regarding TOKİ stock housing, an auction-based sale is scheduled for October 26–27, 2026, across 11 provinces. This sale includes 270 residential units (2+1 and 3+1) and 417 workplaces. Unlike standard social housing programs, these auctions do not require specific income limits or residency requirements in the sale province. Winners must pay a 25 percent down payment, with the remaining balance spread over 60 monthly installments.
