Turkey spot electricity and natural gas prices surge to record highs

On Turkey's spot energy market, the price for electricity was announced at a maximum of 4,500 Turkish lira per megawatt‑hour for delivery tomorrow, while the price applicable today was set at 4,300.01 lira per MWh. Trading volume in the electricity market jumped 148% to 823.4 million lira.

In the natural‑gas market, the reference price for 1,000 cubic metres was fixed at 17,186.84 lira. Daily turnover reached 5.568 million lira and 324,000 cubic metres were traded. Balancing‑gas purchase and sale prices were reported at 18,046.18 lira and 16,327.50 lira respectively. Gas deliveries to Turkey amounted to roughly 103.3 million cubic metres, with a comparable volume offered to the market.
