Turkey supports voluntary return of Syrian refugees

Turkish Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi announced that the government remains committed to supporting the voluntary, safe, and organized return of Syrian refugees to their homeland as stability improves in Syria.

To illustrate this process, Çiftçi highlighted the case of Ebubekir Halil Muhammed Zeyn and his 12-member family. Having sought refuge in Turkey in 2016 due to the civil war, the family has now chosen to return to Syria voluntarily after approximately ten years. Upon their departure, the family left a letter titled ‘Kalpten Teşekkürler Türkiye’ (Heartfelt Thanks, Turkey), expressing gratitude to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the Turkish people for their hospitality.
