Türkiye tax debt restructuring deadline ends August 31

The deadline for taxpayers in Türkiye to apply for the restructuring and installment of public debts is August 31, 2026. Managed by the Ministry of Treasury and Finance and the Revenue Administration, the program allows for the installment of various debts, including income tax, corporate tax, Value Added Tax (VAT), administrative fines, and student loan (KYK) debts.

Under the regulation, VAT debts can be paid in up to 12 installments, while other eligible debts can be spread over up to 72 months. The annual deferral interest rate has been reduced to 29 percent from the standard 39 percent. For taxpayers with total debts under 10 million TL, no collateral is required; for amounts exceeding this threshold, collateral equivalent to half of the excess is necessary.

The program also covers Social Security Institution (SGK) premium debts for employers and self-employed individuals. Applications can be completed electronically via the Digital Tax Office, e-Devlet, or the Revenue Administration website, as well as in person at tax offices. The first installment for approved applications must be paid by September 30, 2026.
