Turkey's inflation data for September 2026 shows consumer prices (TÜFE) rose by 1.84 percent monthly, while annual inflation dropped to 29.73 percent. This marks the first time annual inflation has fallen below 30 percent since November 2021.

Key sectoral changes included a 39.99 percent annual increase in housing, water, electricity, and gas, and a 35.10 percent increase in transportation. Conversely, citrus fruit prices saw a significant annual decline of 24.41 percent. Higher education costs rose by 25.79 percent during the month.

Domestic producer prices (Yİ-ÜFE) increased by 2.07 percent monthly and 27.38 percent annually. In the banking sector, the average 1-3 month maturity TL deposit interest rate fell to 36.9 percent for the week ending September 25, reaching a three-year low.

The lower-than-expected inflation figures impact upcoming salary adjustments for civil servants and retirees, as well as rental increase rates for October.
