Turkey to host 77th International Astronautical Congress in 2026

Christian Feichtinger, Executive Director of the International Astronautical Federation (IAF), highlighted Turkey's growing potential in the space sector. He noted that the 77th International Astronautical Congress (IAC 2026) will be a significant event for demonstrating the country's capabilities.

The congress is scheduled to take place from October 5-9 at the Antalya NEST Congress Center. The event will be hosted by the Turkish Space Agency (TUA), coordinated by the Ministry of Industry and Technology, and co-hosted by SAHA Istanbul.

Feichtinger emphasized that the IAF serves as a global network connecting 604 member organizations across 82 countries, including major agencies like NASA, ESA, and JAXA. He observed that the space sector in the region is growing rapidly, following successful previous congresses in Baku, Azerbaijan, and looking forward to future events in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
