Bodrum and Çeşme host major maritime and sporting events

Various maritime, sporting, and gastronomic events are scheduled across Turkey's coastal regions for late September and early October 2026.

In Bodrum, the 9th Bodrum Half Marathon will take place from October 2–4, featuring 2,500 athletes from 23 different countries. The race includes 21K, 10K, and 5K routes passing through historical landmarks such as Bodrum Castle and the Ancient Theater. Additionally, the International Bodrum Fish Festival will be held from October 2–4, focusing on marine culture, gastronomy, and sustainable fishing.

In Çeşme, the 18th Big Fish Turkey tournament is being held at Setur Marina from September 24–27. The event brings together approximately 200 athletes from across Turkey and Europe for competitive fishing, guided by a “catch-and-release” principle to protect marine life. The tournament is accompanied by a gastronomy program featuring various chefs and culinary demonstrations.
