Turkey to launch 'İyilik Var' digital volunteering platform
The Turkish Ministry of Family and Social Services is set to launch 'İyilik Var', a digital platform designed to increase and sustain volunteer contributions to social services. The official launch is scheduled for September 12 and is expected to include participation from Minister Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş and Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan, Chairman of the İlim Yayma Foundation Board of Trustees.
The platform will connect individual and corporate volunteers with specific needs identified by the Ministry's provincial directorates and affiliated organizations. The initiative features a thematic pool of activities targeting various demographics, including support for youth in residential care, cultural activities for the elderly, financial literacy and vocational training for women, and social participation programs for disabled individuals. It also includes social partnership activities for veterans and relatives of martyrs.
To ensure high-quality and safe volunteer work, the platform will provide educational modules covering topics such as first aid, women's rights, communication with disabled individuals, and elderly privacy. Additionally, a specialized section called 'İyilik Kapısı' aims to integrate tradespeople and freelancers, such as barbers, tailors, and dentists, into the volunteering ecosystem.
