Turkey to recruit 30,000 school security personnel

Turkey is initiating large-scale recruitment of security and cleaning personnel for state schools ahead of the new academic year. Under a protocol between the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, the Ministry of Interior, and the Ministry of National Education, plans are underway to employ a total of 30,000 security personnel across 81 provinces.

In Sakarya specifically, the Provincial Directorate of National Education has announced the recruitment of 1,211 individuals through Public Benefit Programs (TYP). This local quota includes 411 security staff and 800 cleaning personnel. Applications for the Sakarya positions are open from August 24 to August 28, 2026, via İŞKUR’s online system or in person.

For the broader national recruitment of 30,000 security officers, the Ministry of Interior will conduct security clearances, while the Ministry of National Education will manage interviews. Assignments will be determined based on school capacity, regional characteristics, and physical security requirements, coordinated by local governorships.
