Turkey to recruit 30,000 security personnel for schools

Turkey is planning to employ approximately 30,000 security personnel across 81 provinces to strengthen safety measures in schools ahead of the 2026-2027 academic year. The recruitment process is expected to be a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, the Ministry of Interior, and the Ministry of National Education, with applications likely to be processed through İŞKUR.

Serdar Gökhan Arıkan, President of the TOBB Turkey Private Security Services Assembly, has commented on the initiative, describing it as a positive step for both institutional security and employment. Arıkan emphasized that school security involves the safety of students, teachers, administrators, and parents alike. He noted that for the service to be effective and legally sound, personnel must be properly trained, authorized, and hold valid private security identity cards in accordance with Law No. 5188.
