Turkey sets July 2026 pension and civil‑servant salary increase rates

Turkey’s statistics agency TÜİK released the May 2026 inflation data, showing a 1.71 % monthly increase and a 32.61 % annual rise. The five‑month cumulative inflation for the first half of 2026 was 16.61 % for SSK and Bağ‑Kur retirees and 12.40 % for civil servants. These figures determine the guaranteed July wage adjustments: SSK and Bağ‑Kur pensioners will receive about a 16.6 % rise, raising a 20‑000 TL base pension to roughly 23‑300 TL, while civil‑servant salaries will see a 12.4 % increase, lifting a 20‑000 TL base to about 22‑480 TL. Experts estimate the five‑month inflation differential for civil servants at 5.04 %, leading to a total July increase of roughly 14‑15 % for them. Forecasts for retirees range from 16.5 % to 18 % depending on June inflation expectations. No additional welfare (refah) payment will be added. Teachers are to receive three separate payments in July, including a salary bump and two supplemental payments. The lowest pension is expected to rise to between 23 000 TL and 23 700 TL.
