Turkey traffic accidents kill three and injure four in separate incidents

Two serious road accidents occurred in Turkey on 2 August 2026. In Mardin’s Mazıdağı district, a five‑year‑old boy, Muhammed Aras T., was found unconscious and exhausted inside his father’s locked car. He was taken to Mazıdağı State Hospital and later transferred to Mardin Education and Research Hospital, where he died despite medical efforts.

In Kastamonu’s Tosya district, a vehicle lost control on the D‑100 highway, struck a roadside ditch and overturned. The crash killed two occupants, including 44‑year‑old Neriman Ö., and injured four others – S. Ö. (44), A. Ö. (18), E. Ö. (12) and a nine‑year‑old child, Erva Ö., who later died in hospital. The victims were taken to Tosya State Hospital for treatment.
