Turkey travel guide: destinations and entry requirements
Turkey remains a highly popular destination for travelers, offering a mix of well-known coastal resorts and lesser-known natural sites. Popular areas include Side, Belek, Alanya, Istanbul, and Cappadocia, as well as the travertine terraces of Pamukkale.
Beyond mainstream tourism, several locations are noted for their resemblance to the Maldives due to their white sands and turquoise waters. These include Suluada in Antalya, which features a unique freshwater source; Kalem Island and Killik Bay near Izmir; Gideros Bay in Kastamonu; Akvaryum Bay on Bozcaada; and Bencik and Sarsala Bays in Mugla.
Regarding travel logistics, German citizens can enter Turkey using a valid passport, a provisional passport, or a national identity card. However, travelers should be cautious with provisional identity cards, as Turkish authorities may deny entry. It is also recommended that passports have at least one blank page to avoid issues at the border.
