Turkey Treasury and Local Authorities Seek Court Orders to Register Missing Owners' Property to State

The Ministry of Treasury and Finance, together with the Istanbul Environment, Urban Planning and Climate Change Directorate, filed a case before the Istanbul 5th Civil Court of First Instance requesting the cancellation of a title and registration of a 24.5 m² shop property to the Treasury because the listed owners were declared missing. The notice lists the owners and their share fractions and invites anyone with information to come forward within six months.

A similar proceeding was opened in the Turgutlu 2nd Civil Court of First Instance, where the Treasury and the Manisa Environment and Urban Planning Directorate seek to cancel the title and register a 797 m² parcel in Turgutlu. The owners of one‑fifth shares are also listed as missing, and the court issued a public notice for six months for any witnesses to provide details.

Both notices follow Turkish civil law provisions allowing the state to assume ownership of immovable property when owners cannot be located.
