Turkey Treasury Schedules Week of Debt Auctions as Inflation Improves
The Turkish Treasury and Ministry of Finance announced a busy debt‑issuance program for the week of 8‑11 June 2026. Seven operations are planned, including three auctions and four direct‑sale transactions. Instruments will cover 1‑year dollar‑denominated bonds and lease certificates, 4‑year inflation‑linked bonds, TL‑REF‑linked bonds, variable‑rate bonds, gold‑linked bonds and associated lease certificates, with specific dates for each issue.
Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek linked the recent slowdown in inflation to favourable weather conditions. May 2026 inflation slowed to 1.71 % month‑on‑month and 32.61 % year‑on‑year, with food price growth easing by 0.5 % monthly. He also noted declines in rent inflation and service‑price inflation, while warning that geopolitical risks and energy‑price volatility continue to pressure the price outlook. The Treasury’s issuance schedule and the minister’s comments are being closely watched for their impact on market liquidity and Turkey’s broader economic stabilization efforts.
