Turkey Treasury sets internal borrowing of over 1.8 trillion lira for June‑August 2026
The Treasury and Ministry of Finance released an internal borrowing strategy for June‑August 2026, planning to raise 543.8 billion lira in June, 708.7 billion lira in July and 595.8 billion lira in August – a total of about 1.85 trillion lira.
The plan outlines the mix of securities to be issued, including U.S.‑dollar denominated government bonds, rental certificates, CPI‑linked bonds, TL‑REF indexed bonds, fixed‑coupon bonds, gold bonds and gold‑linked rental certificates. Nineteen bond auctions, three Treasury bills and eight direct sales of rental certificates are scheduled, with funding split between market sales, direct sales and public sales.
Treasury expects total cash outflows of 686.6 billion lira in June, 681.8 billion lira in July and 644.3 billion lira in August, of which roughly 245.7 billion lira will be covered by external‑debt service. The overall debt stock has reached 14.7 trillion lira and the cash balance shows a 251.2 billion‑lira deficit.
