Turkey-Tunisia Trade Forum Boosts Bilateral Investment
Business leaders from Turkey and Tunisia gathered in Istanbul for the Turkey‑Tunisia Cooperation and Investment Development Forum. The event, co‑organized by the Turkish Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Tunisian Chamber of Commerce (CCITT) and the WCI Forum, was attended by Turkish Deputy Trade Minister Mahmut Gürcan, Turkish Ambassador to Tunisia Ahmet Misbah Demircan and Tunisian Ambassador to Ankara Ahmed Ben Sghaier.
Officials highlighted the current $1.6 billion trade volume – Turkish exports to Tunisia of $1.25 billion and imports of $350 million – and pledged to raise these figures. Discussions focused on expanding cooperation in textiles, metal and steel products, soy oil, petroleum derivatives, automotive, logistics and renewable‑energy sectors. More than 69 Turkish firms, representing roughly $200 million in investments, are already operating in Tunisia, and the forum aims to launch joint‑production models for export to third‑country markets.
