Turkey expands youth education and student housing initiatives

Various Turkish institutions are launching initiatives to support student development and housing for the 2026-2027 academic year.

In Urla, the municipality and the Turkish Education Foundation (TEV) have signed a protocol to establish the “TEV Urla Youth and Life Academy.” The program aims to provide opportunities in science, maritime, sports, culture, arts, and innovation. It will serve TEV scholars as well as local youth with limited economic means.

TÜRGEV has expanded its “Güzel İşler Fabrikası” (GİF) network by opening a new center in Ümraniye, Istanbul, named after Şule Yüksel Şenler. This facility focuses on empowering young women through technology, digital production, and artificial intelligence workshops. The GİF model currently operates in four provinces, including Ankara and Konya.

Regarding student accommodation, the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) has completed the application process for its student dormitories. Results for the 16 available dormitories are expected to be announced on September 4, with registration processes following in mid-September.
