Turkey updates Employment Protection Support Program
New regulations for the Employment Protection Support Program have been published in the Official Gazette, introducing updated support measures for manufacturing businesses in Turkey. The program, managed by the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, the Ministry of Industry and Technology, and KOSGEB, aims to help companies maintain their workforce.
Businesses in specific sectors—including textile products, clothing, leather and related products, furniture, and the manufacturing of items such as buttons, snaps, and zippers—can receive monthly support of up to 3,500 TL per employee. To qualify, companies must maintain monthly premium day counts equal to or higher than the average of a designated reference period for a protection period of at least six months.
In addition to direct monthly subsidies, the new regulation provides businesses with access to credit support with maturities of up to 36 months to assist with financing.
