Turkey updates green certification and tourism rental regulations
The Turkish Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change has updated the annexes for the Green Certificate Regulation for Buildings and Settlements. The changes, which include updated building assessment guides and certification training requirements, went into effect following their publication in the Official Gazette. The new guidelines cover various building types, including residential, office, health, and commercial spaces, evaluating environmental, social, and economic performance through modules such as energy efficiency, water management, and indoor quality.
Separately, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism has amended the regulation regarding the rental of residential properties for tourism purposes. Under the new rule, permit holders will be granted a 30-day grace period to rectify any deficiencies in their documentation or to address changes in the information provided for certification. If the deficiencies are not resolved within this 30-day window, the rental permit for the property will be canceled.
