Turkey vehicle experts urge winter maintenance to avoid high repair costs
Automotive experts in Turkey are advising drivers to perform vehicle maintenance before the onset of winter to avoid significant repair costs and safety risks.
In Batman, mechanic Cihat Uğur highlighted the critical importance of antifreeze. He warned that insufficient or low-quality antifreeze can lead to frozen engine water, potentially causing severe damage such as cracked engine blocks. Uğur cautioned against choosing products based solely on low prices, noting that poor-quality fluids can fail quickly and necessitate expensive system cleanings.
In Kırşehir, mechanic Çağatay Kılıç emphasized that routine checks of engine oil, antifreeze, wipers, windshield fluid, batteries, tires, and lighting systems are essential for safe driving in cold conditions. Kılıç noted that maintenance costs vary by vehicle make and model, with prices starting from 10,000 TL. Experts agree that performing periodic checks early helps prevent minor issues from escalating into costly repairs and improves overall road safety.
