Turkey vehicle fleet exceeds 34.9 million units

According to data from TÜİK, the total number of vehicles registered in traffic in Turkey reached 34,911,879 by the end of August 2026. This represents a net increase of 1,300,493 vehicles between January and August of that year. Automobiles constitute the largest share of the fleet at 51.7%, totaling 18,037,907 units.

During August alone, 917,143 vehicles changed hands, with automobiles accounting for 66.4% of these transfers. This high volume of vehicle turnover and the growing fleet are driving demand for professional maintenance and service technologies.

Ahmet Kaşka, founder of ELCİ Elektronik Klima, noted that the growing vehicle park creates significant opportunities for local service technologies. The company has expanded its facility to 5,750 square meters and introduced the RTC 3, a solution designed to clean heating and cooling systems in place without removing parts, aiming to provide time and cost advantages for service workshops.
