According to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) for July 2026, the total number of motor vehicles in Turkey has reached 34,746,396. The statistics reveal a significant disparity in vehicle ages across different provinces.

Şırnak holds the title for the youngest vehicle fleet in the country, with an average automobile age of 6.2 years. This is followed by Bingöl (8.8 years) and Tunceli (9.0 years). In contrast, Burdur has the oldest fleet with an average age of 21.8 years, followed by Kütahya (21.1 years) and Karaman (20.8 years).

Major metropolitan areas show varying trends. Istanbul maintains a relatively young fleet with an average age of 9.5 years, while Ankara and Izmir recorded averages of 14.2 and 13.9 years, respectively. Additionally, the number of electric vehicles in Turkey has grown to 464,000 as of mid-2026.
