Turkey wins international military drone competition
The Turkish Land Forces secured first place in the International Best Military UAV Team Competition (BIMDTC-2026) held in Temelli, Ankara. The competition, which began on October 20, featured 22 teams from 18 countries competing to navigate a 23-obstacle course with speed and precision.
In the final stage, the Turkish team achieved a score of 41.417, outperforming Pakistan, which took second place with 50.253, and Italy, which placed third with 50.680. France finished fourth.
General Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu, Chief of the General Staff, emphasized that future warfare will be defined by decision-making speed and the integration of manned and unmanned systems rather than traditional front lines. He noted that Turkey's 83% domestic production rate in defense is a foundation for such successes. Additionally, the Turkish Armed Forces announced a strategic goal to produce 5 million kamikaze systems within five years and 10 million within ten years.
