Turkey wins team title at Karakucak Wrestling World Championship

The Turkish national team secured first place in the team rankings at the 2nd Karakucak Wrestling World Championship held in Ankara. Competing at the Bağlum Şehit Hüseyin Demirtaş Stadium, Turkey earned 200 points, finishing ahead of Iran (167 points) and Azerbaijan (107 points).

In the heavyweight (+90 kg) category, Feyzullah Aktürk became a two-time world champion after defeating Mongolia’s Altangerel Chinbat in the final. Aktürk also received a $100,000 prize for his victory. The championship featured 165 athletes from 33 different countries competing across nine weight classes.

Turkey's overall medal tally included five gold, three silver, and one bronze medals. Individual medalists included Şaban Kızıltaş, Hamza Zopalı, Ferhat Kılıç, and Fazlı Eryılmaz, who all secured gold.
