Turkey women's volleyball team reaches world No. 3 after Ankara VNL success

The Turkish women's national volleyball team won all four matches of the Ankara leg of the 2026 FIVB Volleyball Nations League, defeating Belgium, France, Germany and China. The victory gave the team 107 points and lifted it to third place in the world rankings, overtaking the United States.

Outside hitter Melissa Vargas set a new service speed record of 113.3 km/h during the Turkey‑France match, breaking her own national record, and she scored a total of 107 points in the leg, including a career‑best 36 points against China. Vodafone Turkey’s 5G network was used to deliver real‑time match statistics such as serve speed, spike height and live in/out decisions.

The team’s performance secured a spot in the upcoming final stages of the VNL in Japan and China, and marked the first time Turkey finished an VNL week undefeated on home soil.
