Turkey YKS 2026 additional university placement process begins

The 2026 YKS additional placement process has commenced, with ÖSYM announcing available quotas for students who were not placed or did not register during the initial round. Significant vacancies have been reported in teaching programs, including 619 spots for Science Education, 327 for English Language Teaching, and 301 for Primary School Mathematics Education.

Other notable vacancies include 611 in Dentistry, 572 in Architecture, 565 in Law, 349 in Nursing, and 2,116 in Psychology. Application procedures are scheduled to take place between September 17 and September 21, 2026, via the official ÖSYM website, with an application fee of 170 TL.

Candidates who were already placed in a program during the first placement round are ineligible to apply. For departments with established base scores, applicants must have a score equal to or higher than the base score, though this requirement does not apply to newly opened or unfilled programs. Ranking thresholds for fields such as Medicine and Law remain in effect. While an official announcement regarding the results has not been made, they are expected to be released in the final week of September.
