Turkey readies transport and security for June YKS exam

The Ministry of Interior announced that 44,886 personnel and 6,907 support teams will be deployed at 11,883 schools nationwide for the Yükseköğretim Kurumları Sınavı (YKS) scheduled for 20‑21 June 2026, covering more than 2.4 million candidates. Security measures include pre‑exam building checks, traffic control, noise restrictions and continuous supervision of exam material handling.

Several Turkish municipalities – Konya, Eskişehir, Kayseri, Kahramanmaraş, Kocaeli, Malatya and others – will provide free public transportation for students, exam staff and accompanying relatives on the weekend of the exam. Extra bus and tram services, additional routes and dedicated waiting‑and‑refreshment points have been arranged to reduce congestion and ensure timely arrival at exam centres.

The exam will be conducted in three sessions (TYT, AYT, YDT) with detailed candidate statistics released by ÖSYM. The combined logistical and security preparations aim to guarantee a smooth, safe and quiet environment for all participants.
