Turkey Agriculture Minister İbrahim Yumaklı Announces Major Muğla Investment Plan

Agriculture and Forestry Minister İbrahim Yumaklı visited Muğla and, together with Governor İdris Akbıyık, held a sector summit. He outlined a 92 billion‑lira investment programme carried out over the past 24 years, including 57 billion lira for more than 120 projects in the province.

Yumaklı announced the creation of two new Organized Agriculture Zones – a milk‑production zone in Seydikemer and a greenhouse‑based zone in Milas – projected to employ about 500 workers, 75 % of whom will be women. He highlighted Muğla’s strong export performance, noting $1 billion in seafood exports and a 48‑fold rise in overall agricultural export value to $1.1 billion. Nationally, agricultural support totals roughly 3 trillion lira and water‑supply investments amount to 4.7 trillion lira, helping raise Turkey’s global agricultural ranking from 12th to 7th.

The minister also launched a new grant call targeting young and female entrepreneurs, following earlier grants that funded 12 projects with 154 million lira. He reiterated that agriculture is a strategic pillar for food security and national resilience.
