Turkey's Agriculture Ministry Flags Fraudulent Beef and Dairy Products in Updated List
Turkey's Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry released an updated list of foods found to be adulterated after nationwide inspections. The list highlighted several meat products sold as beef that actually contained poultry meat, off‑al, or mechanically separated chicken, including Mkabasakal Harika Sucukları sausages, Özsultan Et's minced beef, Bicen’s beef‑lamb meatball mix, and a “100% chicken meat” patty from Polat Uysal.
Dairy items were also cited: a half‑fat yogurt from Tezcanlar and a full‑fat cream from Bilaloğlu were found to have low fat content or added plant oil. In addition, certain dietary supplements produced by Hekimzade contained pharmaceutical active ingredients, contrary to labeling. The ministry urged consumers to check product labels and purchase from reputable sources, emphasizing the impact of such fraud on public health and trust.
