Turkey's Agriculture Ministry launches hiring of 1,874 contract staff
The Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry announced a large‑scale recruitment of 1,874 contract personnel for its regional offices. The vacancy list includes 645 veterinary doctors, 515 agronomy engineers, 239 support staff, 185 food engineers, 73 security officers, 60 clerks, 49 aquaculture engineers, 45 mapping engineers, 23 seafarers, 13 lawyers, 9 lab technicians, 7 biologists and 5 chemists.
Applications are accepted online through the Kariyer Kapısı portal using an e‑Devlet login from 27 July to 9 August 2026. Placement will be based on 2024 KPSS scores, with the exception of seafarer positions which require a practical exam and no KPSS score. Candidates may select up to 20 preferred posts, and must meet the general eligibility criteria of the 657 Law.
The hiring drive, aimed at strengthening the ministry’s capacity nationwide, has drawn criticism from the Turkish Food Engineers Association, which notes that only 185 food‑engineer slots are offered despite growing food‑safety concerns.
