Turkey's AK Party launches 3rd Human Rights Education Camp in Kocaeli
From 31 July to 2 August the AK Party’s General Centre for Human Rights organised the third Human Rights Education Camp in Kocaeli’s Diriliş Camp. Around 500 young participants aged 18‑30, together with party officials, ministers and deputies, attended.
Deputy Minister of Justice Sedat Ayyıldız used the opening to stress that the recent constitutional amendment granting an individual application right to the Constitutional Court is a “revolution” for fundamental rights. He also announced that a judicial‑reform package passed parliament will speed up cases, notably in divorce and tenancy matters, as part of the “Terörsüz Türkiye” process now in its final stage.
Human‑rights President Hasan Basri Yalçın said the programme would be interactive rather than a classic conference, focusing on dialogue with youth. The three‑day schedule combined educational sessions on human rights, law, politics and international developments with sports such as football, volleyball, archery and hiking. Ministers Akın Gürlek (Justice) and Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş (Family and Social Services) were slated to take part.
