Turkey's ASELSAN secures €780 million air‑defence systems contract with SSB

ASELSAN and the Presidency of Defense Industry (SSB) have signed a contract worth €780 million for the supply of air‑defence systems. Deliveries are scheduled between 2028 and 2032 and are intended to bolster Turkey’s multi‑layered “Steel Dome” (Çelik Kubbe) architecture.

The Steel Dome project integrates low‑altitude drone‑defence (Dronedef), medium‑layer HİSAR, and long‑range SİPER systems, together with AI‑driven command solutions such as HAKİM. The agreement also includes radars, electro‑optical sensors, communication modules and unmanned vehicle components, aiming to protect Turkish airspace against a range of threats.

The contract reinforces ASELSAN’s growing order backlog, which reached $20.7 billion in February, and follows recent export deals worth $114.7 million for radars, air‑defence and UAV technologies.
