Turkey's Competition Authority to Publish Pharma Sector Competition Report in September

The Competition Authority (Rekabet Kurumu), led by Chairman Birol Küle, has completed a comprehensive review of Turkey's pharmaceutical market. The study examined licensing, pricing policies, distribution chains, competition violations, and the relationship between reference and generic medicines, as well as the impact of information sharing on competition.

A preliminary report with findings and policy recommendations will be released in the coming days, and a workshop is planned for September where regulators, industry representatives, and academics will discuss the proposals. The Authority also highlighted ongoing projects that use artificial intelligence and data analytics to detect potential antitrust breaches early.
