Turkey's Defense Industry Hits $10 B Export Milestone, Local Content Rises to 83%

Deputy President Cevdet Yılmaz attended the second‑year anniversary of the "National Competence Initiative" organized by the Presidency of Defense Industries. He emphasized Turkey’s aim to rank among the world’s top ten defense producers and highlighted the need for skilled human capital to sustain technological independence.

President of the Presidency of Defense Industries Haluk Görgün announced that Turkish defense firms exported over $10 billion to 185 countries last year. He said the domestic content share, which was in the 20 % range a few years ago, has now reached 83 %, and that annual export growth could reach 40 % compared with the previous year. The announcement was made during the opening of the Turkish Armed Forces Strengthening Foundation’s regional office in Erzurum, attended by senior officials and local leaders.
