Turkey's DMM denies rumors of new vehicle taxes and fund fees

The Center for Combating Disinformation (DMM) in Turkey has issued denials regarding two separate sets of claims circulating on social media.

First, the DMM addressed rumors suggesting that citizens would be charged fees to cover investor payments from liquidated funds. The center stated that these claims are entirely baseless and that no fees, taxes, or contributions will be collected from the general public for these fund payments. Legal and administrative investigations into the funds are ongoing.

Second, the DMM refuted claims that a new mileage-based tax system would be implemented for electric vehicle owners in Turkey. The center clarified that there is no such tax study on the agenda of relevant authorities and urged the public to rely only on official statements to avoid misinformation.
