Turkey’s Q1 2026 Health‑Travel Spending Surpasses 10 Billion Lira
Turkey’s statistical agency TÜİK reported that domestic tourists spent 102.312 billion Turkish lira on travel in the first quarter of 2026. Health‑related trips accounted for 576 000 journeys, generating 6.135 million overnight stays with an average stay of 10.6 nights.
Spending on health travel rose to 10.626 billion lira, crossing the 10‑billion‑lira threshold for the first time, up from 9.877 billion lira a year earlier. When combined with meeting‑conference travel (2.406 billion lira) and trade‑fair travel (2.220 billion lira), total expenditure in these three categories reached 15.25 billion lira.
