Turkey's Ege Olive Exporters Association briefs exporters on financing options
The Ege Olive and Olive Oil Exporters Association (EZZIB) organized a financing‑access briefing at its service building, inviting representatives of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, Turkish Eximbank and Turkish Commercial Bank. They presented available credit, insurance and other financing programmes for olive and olive‑oil exporters.
EZZIB President M. Emre Uygun emphasized that the sector produces entirely with domestic inputs and that financing demand peaks during the raw‑material procurement period (September‑January). He urged higher re‑discount credit limits, faster allocation and suggested a tiered foreign‑exchange conversion support raising the current rate to 7 %. Uygun said, “Finansman mekanizmaları sektörün üretim takvimine uyum sağlamalı,” calling for mechanisms that align with the production schedule.
