Turkey's Ege Port Kuşadası secures 638 million‑lira investment for third cruise pier

Turkey’s leading passenger terminal, Ege Port Kuşadası, has launched a 638 million Turkish‑lira infrastructure project to build a third cruise‑ship pier. An environmental impact assessment has begun, and the plan calls for a 425‑metre double‑sided pier equipped with a pile‑supported approach structure, two berthing dolphins and a modern waste‑acceptance platform. The development also includes an additional berthing dock and extensive seabed surveying of about 51,500 m², expecting the removal of roughly 113,000 m³ of material without any marine land‑filling.

The upgrade aims to boost the port’s capacity after it set a 2025 record of handling 617 cruise vessels and 995,303 passengers. By enabling larger vessels to dock simultaneously, the project is intended to increase tourist throughput and deepen the economic contribution of the Aegean region and Turkey’s broader tourism sector.
