Turkey's Electronic Listing Verification System draws criticism from real estate agents

The Ministry of Trade introduced the Electronic Listing Verification System (EİDS) to increase transparency in the real‑estate market and curb speculative price increases. The system became mandatory nationwide on 15 February 2026. Under the rule, posting property or vehicle advertisements on social‑media platforms without verification through e‑Devlet or EİDS can result in administrative fines of up to 286 206 TL per violation.

Eskişehir real‑estate agent Kasım Karakaş says the fees charged by listing‑site packages are “almost as much as the shop rent” ("İlan sitelerinin ücreti, neredeyse dükkanın kirasından fazla"). He argues that the high cost of the lowest package (about 12 000 TL) and the steep fine for social‑media postings (currently 286 000 TL) place an undue burden on agents and ordinary citizens, and calls for a more reasonable regulation.
