Turkey's Energy Regulator Sets 5‑Year Natural Gas Tariff Period (2027‑2031)

The Energy Market Regulation Authority (EPDK) has published new regulations in the Official Gazette establishing the fourth natural‑gas distribution tariff period in Turkey. The period runs from 1 January 2027 to 31 December 2031, creating a five‑year timetable for retail sales tariffs and system‑usage fees.

Under the new rules, the amortisation period for system‑usage charges is set at 22 years, a factor that will shape cost recovery for distribution infrastructure. The authority also raised the investment ceiling for Aksa Siirt Batman Natural Gas Distribution Co. for the 2022‑2026 revision, increasing it from TRY 24.15 million to TRY 54.75 million to accelerate regional network upgrades.
