Turkey's Erciyes and Kazdağları mountains bloom in vivid colors after spring rains

Heavy spring rains have turned the slopes of Erciyes Dağı near Kayseri into a sea of red poppy flowers. Locals and passing drivers stopped to photograph the unexpected carpet of gelincik, with residents noting the abundance of blooms this year.

In the Kazdağları range on the Balıkesir‑Çanakkale border, abundant rainfall revived the forest canopy, creating a kaleidoscope of green, amber and gold tones. Waterfalls swelled, drawing nature enthusiasts and photographers who documented the scene from drones and ground level.

Both regions reported a surge in visitors eager to capture the seasonal display, highlighting the visual impact of the unseasonably wet spring on Turkey's mountainous landscapes.
