Turkey's Food Ministry warns of adulterated meat, dairy and supplement products
On 25 June 2026 the Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry released an updated list of counterfeit and adulterated food items. Inspections revealed multiple violations across several product categories:
- Beef sausages were found to contain tongue tissue. - Minced meat and meat‑ball mixes were contaminated with bone fragments, off‑cuts and mechanically separated poultry meat. - Full‑fat cream from the "Köy Park" brand contained vegetable oil, while a half‑fat yogurt product showed a markedly reduced fat content. - Four dietary‑supplement products from Hekimzade were found to contain pharmaceutical active ingredients.
The ministry named the specific firms involved, including Bilaloğlu Süt, Özsultan Et, Bicen Mağazacılık, Polat Uysal, Mkabasakal and others, and published batch numbers for each irregular product. These items were added to the public “counterfeit food” list and to the “health‑risk” red list, signalling that they may endanger consumer health.
The disclosure aims to inform the public and prompt corrective action by the identified manufacturers.
