Turkey's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan says S‑400 talks with UAE continue, F‑35 talks with US underway

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said that discussions about the possible delivery of Russian S‑400 air‑defence systems to the United Arab Emirates are ongoing. He noted that negotiations involve both governments and that Russia must be part of the talks because the missiles are purchased from Moscow.

Fidan also addressed the stalled procurement of F‑35 fighter jets bought by Turkey, saying talks with the United States are progressing. He referenced the U.S. National Defense Authorization Act that placed restrictions on Turkey but expressed confidence that a resolution will be reached soon. The comments were made after the NATO summit and reflect continued diplomatic negotiations over Turkey's defence acquisitions.
