Turkey's Gabar oil field sets daily production record

Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar announced that daily crude output from the Gabar oil field in Şırnak province reached a new high of 83,300 barrels, surpassing the previous record of 83,200 barrels reported by Turkey Petroleum (TPAO). The surge follows years of seismic surveys and drilling that began after the region was cleared of terrorist activity. Since the 2021 discovery, more than 50 million barrels have been produced from Gabar, and the government aims to lift daily capacity to 100,000 barrels by expanding the number of wells.

Bayraktar highlighted that the achievement demonstrates the benefits of a “terror‑free Turkey” and noted that national energy storage facilities are now fully stocked. Ongoing exploration and new well development are expected to keep production rising.
