Turkey's Gaziantep Pistachio Licensed Depot Ready for 2026 Harvest

Gaziantep Trade Exchange (GTB) chairman Mehmet Akıncı announced that the Antep Fıstığı Licensed Depot has completed preparations for the 2026 harvest season. The facility offers producers secure, insured storage and allows them to time sales for optimal market conditions, reducing price pressure from large simultaneous deliveries. Farmers registered in the Crop Registry can receive Electronic Product Certificates (ELÜS) and obtain up to 75 % of the product’s value as a nine‑month, zero‑interest loan from Ziraat Bank. Akıncı said the system strengthens traceability, transparency and trust among growers, traders, processors and exporters, supporting economic gains for pistachio growers.

The initiative is presented as a strategic agricultural‑trade model that enhances producers’ marketing power while protecting product quality and cash flow during the harvest period.
