Turkey’s Giresun Island and Darıca Gardens Attract More Visitors After Renovation Projects
A 32 million‑lira environmental renovation project on Giresun Island added walking trails, viewing terraces, a reception centre, cafés and other facilities. The upgrades have boosted domestic tourism and are expected to draw more foreign visitors, including groups from Greece and Middle‑Eastern countries such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan and Oman.
In Kocaeli Province, the Darıca Millet Garden, created by the metropolitan municipality, now features three themed areas – the Rose Garden, the Turkish‑Islamic Garden and a Cactus Garden – along with a library and sea‑view promenades. Designed with ornamental stone, pergolas and diverse plant collections, the gardens provide a tranquil setting for city residents seeking a break from urban stress.
