Turkey's Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi vows to dismantle organized crime by year‑end

Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi addressed a program organized by the Eurasian Strategic Research Foundation (ASAV) in Istanbul, attended by North Cyprus Transport Minister Erhan Arıklı and a range of officials. He said the ministry had identified 11 nationwide organized‑crime groups and that most of them had already been liquidated. Operations, especially a large April raid in Adana, resulted in the arrest of about 300 suspects and the collapse of a new‑generation crime network.

Çiftçi pledged that by the end of the year the remaining drug gangs and new‑generation criminal organisations would be rendered unable to act, both within Turkey and abroad. He emphasized the ministry’s role in protecting life and property, managing migration, and responding to emergencies while continuing coordinated efforts with police, gendarmerie, judicial bodies and the Justice Ministry.
