Turkey arrests 41 suspects in multi‑province FETÖ operation

Turkish prosecutors coordinated simultaneous raids in İzmir and eleven other provinces, detaining 80 people linked to the Fetullahçı Terör Örgütü (FETÖ). Of those, 41 were ordered to be held in jail, while the remainder faced judicial control, release, or ongoing investigations.

Authorities uncovered 22 clandestine “student‑house” cells that financed rent, food and other needs from the organization’s funds. Six detainees used code names to hide their identities, and investigators reported masked money transfers and trips abroad used to attend FETÖ training camps.

In a separate indictment, Ankara’s Cumhuriyet Başsavcılığı revealed alleged FETÖ plans to infiltrate Turkey’s intelligence agency. The case described a scheme in which members allegedly gained “32nd‑degree” status in Mason lodges abroad, used a custom “Filemaker” database to catalogue personal details of MIT personnel, and operated a covert office near ODTÜ’s Vişnelik campus for illegal surveillance. One quoted instruction from the documents reads, “Kendine takma bıyık al.”
