Turkey's Izmir‑based crackdown on FETÖ nets 80 suspects
Coordinated by the Izmir Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office and Turkish security agencies, simultaneous raids were carried out in 11–12 provinces targeting the FETÖ/PDY organization’s education network. Police seized dozens of student‑house locations used for training, uncovered covert financial transfers through shopping‑centre lockers, and linked some suspects to travel trips labeled as "educational camps" in the Balkans (Bosnia‑Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Albania).
The operation resulted in the detention of between 76 and 80 individuals, including members of both the women’s and men’s branches of the group, with one already‑convicted suspect captured and two fugitives still being pursued.
